Description

This activity engages persons from a migrant background in setting up a book display or thematic book corner in the library, featuring books in native languages.

Objectives

Participants will:
• Select books in their native language/ a foreign language
• Produce an engaging display to draw attention to books in that language
• Feel empowered to showcase their language and culture

Prerequisites for the audience

Understand the language used by the facilitator (or volunteer translation if possible).

Equipment

• Display materials (shelves, stands, tables, decorations).
• Labels or index cards for book descriptions.

• Books in native languages (provided by the library and/or participants).
