Description

A supportive, welcoming workshop designed to help adult migrants reflect on their skills and explore skills they would like to develop for future jobs or personal goals, with the aim of building self-confidence.
Participants are also introduced to the library’s wide range of learning resources, services, and support networks to help them along their learning journey.

Objectives

Participants will:
• Help learners reflect on and name their formal and informal skills.
• Encourage goal-setting for personal or professional development.
• Introduce library services, books, digital tools, and community courses as resources for lifelong learning.
• Build professional and learning-related vocabulary.

Prerequisites for the audience

• Basic understanding of the language of the facilitator
• Some prior life, work, or volunteer experience, even informal, or an appetite to discover these skills
