Description

This activity offers a welcoming and inclusive reading session for children and families living in temporary accommodation. The goal is to create a safe, relaxed space where participants can gather, listen to stories, and engage with books in a way that encourages imagination, emotional connection, and social interaction. It also introduces the idea of libraries as friendly and accessible community spaces, even beyond the session itself.

Objectives

• Introduce short stories by reading them out loud in a fun and interactive way
• Support participants in getting familiar with the impact of reading stories on themselves and their children
• Encourage parents and their children to work creatively with short stories

Prerequisites for the audience

• Participants will be residents in a temporary living / reception center.
• Some fluency in the language spoken by the facilitator is ideal, but not obligatory.
